Movies To Video Games Reviews
Review #27

–This is a Fan Requested Review–

PLEASE NOTE: Due to youtube restrictions moments of this video have been edited with music and moments cut out. Sorry for any inconvenience this causes this review will be redone eventually and updated so it can be properly viewed again. Thank you.

Spider-Man for the Playstation 2, GameCube, XboX and PC, is fully reviewed and analyzed as compared to the actual movie itself.

Feel free to comment. More movies to video games reviews coming soon.. suggestions and feedback welcome and encouraged.

To save on space and time in the video, the score tallies and descriptions of how I got to the scores are listed here instead.

They are on a 0-10 scale with 10 being the best score possible:
Story Accuracy to the Movie 6.5 out of 10
(Tries not to give too much of the plot of the film away but still tries to keep it tied in as minimally as possible. Will have a lot of elements from the film in the means of origins and Green Goblin situations but will deviate greatly from the plot with various villains not in the film and many side adventures that have nothing to do with anything.)

Music Soundtrack Accuracy to the Movies 3.0
(Captures the flavor and feel of the original soundtrack but like most if not all Activision games it is not the real deal in any way. Its still fun for what it is.)

Game Difficulty 7.5
(There will be many challenging points but the levels are short and the game can be beaten in a few hours on the easier levels. Anyone can pick this up and jump right into action with no problem. The annoying stages will be just that, but they too can be beaten with a little time and luck devoted to it)

Overall Fun 6.5
(Its a lot of fun swinging through the cities as Spiderman and taking on loads of bad guys at once. There are a lot of points that bring this game down to a slow and almost stand still that lowers this score greatly. But it is certainly more fun than not in the over all scheme of things)

Final Score: 6.75

  1. I'm surprised you didn't mention that the Xbox version has exclusive levels dedicated to Kraven the Hunter. Still not sure why it's exclusive to only the Xbox version and not the others as well.

  2. Oh oops. Made a note of that minor error there in the video now. Thanks!

  3. what about the dreamcast and ps1 versions? and 3-4 hours? how can anyone beet tat fast now? few days at least.

  4. Game had Major Plot Errors.

If this game is Based on the First Movie on how Spider Man got Started why is Some Classic Villians. That what gets me.

  5. Well this version of Spider Man wasn't for those systems. This is the official movie based version of the game which is on the four listed systems in the review.

And yes the levels are very short. Each level only takes about 5-10 minutes, some even less. Some may take longer to beat the game (as it did for me) but to be fair the game can be beaten very quickly, especially on repeated playing of it.

  6. Nice to see you're back. Good revied I'd say, waiting for more =)

  7. you know you could play as the green goblin right?

  8. Yes. Only have a limited amount of time for review. Can't include everything.

But I did mention that Spider Man was the only character you control BESIDES unlocks. Its a cool feature to look forward to in future playings of the game.

  9. Could you do a review on Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets?

  10. This game is a mess. You play as web-slinging Spider-Man, but most the time you're always stuck in hallways and little rooms. The second one is fun, though, but neither game follows the movie very well.

  11. the tutorial speaker is actualy bruce cambel you heared me BRUCE FREAKING CAMBLE THE GUY WHO PLAYED ASH IN EVIL DEAD!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. @clownface29
yeah but when you get in the open spaces the game is awesome… of cause it was later surpassed by it's sequel, but those levels are still awesome, especially the very first level.

  13. I liked this game when it first came out. I still like how you can put a cheat in to play as the Green Goblin. Also, a little random, but "Hero" by Nickelback is an awesome song for Spider-Man.

It really sucks they're rebooting it all…

  14. so what do you want? to be able to continue to the next mission without finishing the mission and to play with more characters in a movie that shows only Spider-Man?

I don't remember any game that based on a one-hero-only-movie with 2 characters playable while first playing the game.

Still, it is a good review.

  15. I played almost all spidey games. Including the carnage one on gameboy. In my opinion, Spidey 2 was THE best. Didn't play Shattered Dimensions yet though.

  16. this game was so freaking awesome. i always rented this game from blockbuster!

  17. I played this game sook much when it came out. Kind of brings back memories. Especially when fighting shocker

  18. ajja its funny that sometimes hes in the taller building and he uses his web ..and I dont know where he's hanging from xD…¿helicopters? xD

  19. What if there was a glitch if u touch the floor I'll stay alive

  20. @Movies2GamesReviews

Do you unlock anything if you beat the game as The Green Goblin?

  21. All of the levels were not the same cross-platform. The Xbox version for some reason had 3 or so extra levels featuring Kraven the Hunter.

  22. I got this game as a gift for Christmas …it was a great gift from my parents =).

  23. can you do spider man 2 for the ps2 xbox and gamecube

  24. you know if you hold down the swing button you'll swing faster and you forgot to mention the part where you get to fight Bonesaw in the Brawler Match training

  25. The lego movie has batman and will arnett is voice of batman

  26. review fantastic 4 for the ps2 and fantastic 4 rise of the silver surfer for the ps3

  27. I was expecting something very bad from this game, after hearing most reviews, so I never got around to playing this; which is quite ironic given that Spider-Man 1 of the PS1 is one of my favourites on that platform – despite a few very annoying problems with some levels. I've always been a huge Spider-Man fan but I have never found a game I really liked except for that one.

  28. Good job! Next do Spider-Man 2 (PS2, GC, Xbox and PC and GBA and DS and PSP) Spider-Man 3 (Xbox 360, PS3, PC and PS2, PSP, Wii and GBA and DS) Amazing Spider-Man (Xbox 360, PS3, PC, Wii U, PS Vita and Wii, 3DS and DS) Amazing Spider-Man 2(PS4, Xbox One, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii U and 3DS)

  29. Do the increvlie hulk xbox 360 ds and dare devil gba

  30. Do ice age on gba do tara strong in the actor segment

  31. to me, it s a 10! and the voice acting is great

  32. Excuse me could you do a Spider-Man 2 review
