“Roaming the streets of Resident Evil Village is like visiting a disturbing and deadly Disneyland, where every attraction is a house of horrors. I got just as big a thrill out of revelling in its frenzied violence as I did retracing my steps through the gradually revealed recesses of its sizable village setting to uncover the darkest story secrets of its monstrous main cast. Boss fights are a bit of a letdown but the great variety of enemies throughout keeps things tense, especially on Hardcore mode. The fact that it’s very much a throwback to the fast-paced action of Resident Evil 4 also means it largely takes a step back from the slow-burn scares of Resident Evil 7’s excellent opening hours, which may well disappoint those who prefer more psychological dread to blowing off heads. But if you have an itch for action-heavy survival-horror, then Resident Evil Village will scratch it like a fistfull of Lady Dimitrescu’s freakish fingernails.”

  1. Looks like a fps bloodborne, I'm interested

  2. This RE would’ve been a lot better to do VR

  3. Definitely game of the year for me. Very similar to RE7 in terms of gameplay mechanics and has a flavor of RE4 added to it. If you enjoyed playing either of those, get this game.

  4. It's not resident evil unless its 3rd person 🙄

  5. Game felt like Castlevania meets Resident Evil, both of my favorite franchises of all time! Only reason I'd give this game a 7 is because how quickly the castle and the Dimitrescu fam is over right in the damn beginning, pretty much the only part of the game that feels like RE.. Come on Capcom give us Dimitrescu DLC!!

  6. This game was a 7-8. The game was just okay. Some segments of the village felt quite stale and empty, specially during halfway of the game. Besides Lady D the rest of the villains are not all that interesting, and the ending was decent at best.

Nothing mindblowing, but there's certainly some fun to be had

  7. The game is brilliant it has a lot of scares and a descent amount of action to balance it. It is much bigger in scale than 7 so its logical to have more action. It successfully pays homage to four tylee of horror Lady D is victorian vampire Beneviento is poltergeist type horror moreu is lovecraftian style aquatic and karl is Frankenstein steampunk type . A lot of work went into this game and its variety is amazing 9.5/10 easily

  8. Has anyone played this game on more than one console? if so did you prefer playing on the ps4 or PC?

  9. Game is freaking masterpiece!! Capcom should be very proud of themselves

  10. Just finished it. Village is the best survival horror game I've ever played, along with Dying Light which was my all time favorite. Solid 9/10 for me

  11. Please tell me someone got the resident evil 5 reference at the end of the game.

  12. The re2 remake is personally my favorite right now but this one might top it

  13. Looks like they made Bloodborne into an FPS – and I'm okay with that…

  14. I’m not much of a Resi fan, but 7 looked interesting, this looks a bit boring.

  15. Heisenberg level was too repetitive…Needed more side missions..medallions or treasures. Other than that..i liked it

  16. For a horror game, this was by far one of the best.
But as a Resident Evil game, it felt more like a kin to Silent Hill than a Biological Monstrosity apolocalypse. Idk, maybe I'm just too use to Zombies, Mr.X, and other bio terrors.

  17. This series use to "companies are willing to violate human ethics for profit" now its "we put your daughter in separate jars and pickled her"

  18. Lady dimitrescu wasnt short lived.. she was 1/5 bosses without even counting the mini bosses. Its not capcom's fault people expected you to save and Marry her

  19. Did he really skipped even the mention of Beneviento House???

  20. Well they gave RE7 a 7.7, so not surprised to see 8 for RE8.

Fun fact: Ethan had eight fingers throughout the game

  21. Just a ripoff of Glover from the Nintendo 64.

  22. I'm sorry IGN, but u f***ed another review. This game is a 10/10 gem.

  23. The renview was honest its not naymore a horror game . Its like a call of duty game like

  24. Currently up to Heisenbergs factory and I'm having such an amazing time.

  25. Resident evil is just a way better “Doom” more violence

  26. Most of the rooms and halls in castle dimitrescu look like the rooms and halls in assassins creed unity.

  27. When you watch the review while your game is installing and you see spoilers in the comments… thanks guys.

  28. Guys who do you think that is coming up to rose in the post credits?

  29. Why in the world did they rank 8 higher then 7?????

  30. for me is a 7/10 …action game ..go back to the roots Capcom….don't make generic games to please everyone and sell

  31. Capcom should really make a Resident Evil game about Hunk's life story.

  32. 9/10, no way it's an 8. Played it through twice and it's way higher than 8.

  33. This is a game where you wake up after being escorted by guards, cook food, explore ancient ruins for treasure and slay a dragon.

  34. Played thru RE7 multiple times in both ways, with VR and without. VR makes a big difference with the jump scares and tone of the game. Wish VR mode was included in Village.

  35. “Boss fights are a little bit of a let down.”

    No. They really aren’t.

  36. you had me until you said you enjoyed the Call of Duty run and gun…

  37. Hi, what do you think of my Resident evil 8 village short review 😊

  38. This game easily has the best night vision gameplay I've ever seen wish the whole game was able to play it that way
