Episode 30: Street Fighter: The Movie (Saturn)

Street Fighter: The Movie, released in Japan as Street Fighter: Real Battle on Film, is a 1995 head-to-head fighting game released for the PlayStation and Sega Saturn. The game is based on the 1994 live-action Street Fighter movie and uses digitized images of the film’s cast posing as the characters in the game.

  1. I love this game!! In the others Blanka loses all his humanity and looks a lot more like a monster… and I also enjoyed the film, and still do enjoy it every time I watch it!! And that weird announcer yes okay maybe its not the best but the way he says their names I like it lol. This is one of my fav games. I miss it!! If you know any website I can download it for psx, please tell. (I like this one and dislike all other Street Fighters, yes its me…)

  2. It kinda reminds me of the 1st mortal kombat game

  3. Akuma is portrayed by martial arts expert Ernie Reyes Sr. He is the father of Ernie Reyes Jr. also known as Keno from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles II: Secret of the Ooze. At the time, he was the best person for the part.

As for the movie and movie/game, I enjoyed them both. I know they're both bad, but there's just something about them that makes me smile. Don't ask me why, because I don't even know. Thanks for the review! 🙂

  4. The announcer for the game is Jean Claude Van Damme. You could tell by the accent.

  5. While the 1994 Street Fighter is bad, it's no worse than the 2009 abomination entitled "Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li".

  6. No disrespect to Raul Julia he was an incredibly talented actor who left us way too soon, but given the option of being and this game and pushing up daisies… no thanks, I'll just die, okay.

  7. This game is awesome… I also own it on Saturn.

  8. I had this game and I had fun as a kid

  9. I don't get why they can't just find a Bruce Lee look-a-like and have him play Fei-Long. I know Fei-Long wasn't in the crappy movie but c'mon this is a game, add him like they add Akuma would had make the game feel much more decent. Also because the movie fucked up Dhalsim and T. Hawk, those two weren't considered for the movie game either. Blanka was lucky to even be in this port as he was not playable in the arcade game.

  10. Ken is micklo from blood in blood out lol. Oh the 90s how i miss u

  11. Best part of this movie Raul Julia as bison.

  12. now this is a movie I love to hate! Watch it almost annually 🙂

  13. I own the PlayStation version of this game and to be totally honest I actually think it's pretty good.

  14. i cant believe dhalsim isn't in this game they made him a total pussy in the movie i played this game when i was a kid on sega saturn

  15. I can't believe this game is based on the crappy live-action Street Fighter movie which is loosely based on the manga and the video games. I read on Wikipedia and Street Fighter Wiki that the arcade version of Street Fighter: The Movie is way better than the Saturn and PS1 versions because the Saturn and PS1 versions have really bad slow-downs and really bad frame-rate issues because of the digitized graphics.

  16. It's wack that had Guile fighting in Kung Fu style on here, when in the original game, he had more of a bare knuckle boxing style

  17. I enjoyed this game as a kind, I used to go to my friends house and we would duke it out on 2 player mode.

  18. I dont know, street fighter was one of my favorite rentals when I was 6 or 7. Its probably closer to the game than the anime movie.
