Episode 38: WWF No Mercy (Nintendo 64)

WWF No Mercy is a professional wrestling video game released in 2000 on the Nintendo 64 console and published by THQ. It is named after the World Wrestling Federation annual pay-per-view event of the same name. No Mercy is the follow-up to 1999’s WWF WrestleMania 2000, and the last WWF game released for the Nintendo 64.

  1. This is a great game but my favorite wrestling games will always be the fire pro wrestling series

  2. Andre is in most for the AKI of the AKI games up to this point. Also that super heavyweight left from VPW2 and NM is based on Hogan slamming Andre at Mania!

  3. Bars backstage for the same reason the APA office traveled and in the same condition as the show prior if it got torn apart lul

  4. 1:21 Kurt angle was bald already? And with TNA impact attire? History abhors a paradox.

  5. As for some of the things like the music in the Titantron is not showing on the Tron I think I might have been a combination of Developmental and system limitations especially with the cartridge size at the time but yeah the game is fun as hell but I don't remember it running at 24 frames per second if my emulator is correct unless I'm just on a potato of a system

  6. Just think…. imagine what this game could have added with use of the expansion pack… ๐Ÿ‘€

  7. The greatest Wrestling game ever made is Here comes the pain No mercy was just a recycled game from THQs past games like world tour, Revenge and Wrestlemania 2000 same exactly gameplay with a few additions Shut your mouth and Here comes the pain was where THQ really hit it out the park those games had the best gameplay of any wrestling game ever made

  8. This game is SO the greatest wrestling game ever made. it's one of my favorite N64 games of all time. I especially love how unlike the previous games, taunting doesn't get rid of your weapon. I'm so glad this game appeared in the best games list in the final issue of Nintendo Power.

  9. At this point I wasn't watching WWF that much but my brother and I poured hours upon hours into this! We altered so many characters to look like Street Fighters, the Punch Out! cast, Double Dragon, and all kinds! Sure they didn't look perfect but we did the best we could.

  10. Pimps up hos down lol no mercy revenge smackdown here comes the pain are the best wrestling games of all time and out of the newer ones I like wwe all stars and either 2k16 or 17

  11. No Mercy and WCW/NWO Revenge are the GOAT Wrestling games to me. Spent countless hours on those games wow….

  12. No wresting game has topped No Mercy..imo best game ever..got it for Christmas when it came out. .best gift for 64..๐Ÿ‘

  13. I really wish WWF Backlash was finished. That wouldโ€™ve been my favorite wrestling game ever. But for now, it will always be No Mercy and Here Comes The Pain for me.

  14. Gonna go ahead and say it: No Mercy was AMAZING for its time, but does NOT hold up well lmao I will never understand anyone saying it's the greatest wrestling game of all time. Klunky characters, no voice overs for the wrestlers, no in depth entrances. The greatest wrestling game of all time should have the full package and the best roster, it's kind of hard to say if that game has even been made yet. 2K16 was AWESOME, but lacked a major feature for an infinite finisher.

  15. The bar was there because of the APA storyline around the time of them always being in bars and being a protection agency

  16. I got this and Smackdown Know your role that Christmas. I played this game waay more.

  17. Yeah normalcy in here come the pain are the best to wrestling game ever

  18. 20 years ago on this 17th day in November 2000, WWF No Mercy was released for the Nintendo 64 video game console.

  19. I still prefer Wrestlemania 2000. It feels much more polished and had full entrances and video packages. This game just feels like a step backwards in some ways.

  20. Considering the fact that No Mercy is still being modded to this day I would say yes No Mercy is the best wrestling game of all time, 2k games may have the next gen graphics but they don't have the longevity of this iconic game

  21. This looks terrible. Smack down 2 is the best

  22. WM 2000 is my favorite.
I just wish it had ladder matches.

  23. I love the fact that weapons in this game dont dissapear once they fall to the floor, that is a huge plus for me over Wrestlemania 2000 and Revenge. Also having 3 strong strikes ( B, B+Dpad, A+B )

  24. Day of Reckoning is the closest to achieving No Mercy.

  25. Tell you what was an amazing feature for the time!! Updated characters updated on the intro video also ๐Ÿ˜Ž

  26. Itโ€™s definitely the best of its generation, but I only consider it to 2nd best ever. To me, the best is โ€œSmackdown: Here comes the Painโ€.

  27. It's time to show no mercy

  29. 2nd best wrestling game ever wcw revenge was better

  30. 2k18 is the best wrestling game all time now imo. No Mercy was really good but it would randomly delete the whole progress of your game periodically. All the belts you unlocked, hidden characters and everything you spent time winning would just erase for no reason. The only things you could save permanently were your created players if you remember to save them on a memory card. I had multiple different copies of no mercy and they all had this glitch so that counts against it to me..

  31. Man, my cousin and I would do backstage royal rumbles back in the day. Man, those were some of the best times I ever had playing a wrestling game.

  32. I think the entrance cuts were made to add things like creating wrestlers making the game play better and the roster and adding a better career mode. They had to draw the line somewhere. And at least it still has entrances and theme music. They could have just done without them completely like in Smackdown. This game is a great complete package even if in some ways I think Wrestlemania 2000 is slightly better for it. No Mercy is the overall more complete game but Wrestlemania had slightly better presentation. Both games are still so great!

  33. The other great thing about these N64 WWF games is you can make a wrestler who isnโ€™t in the game and they actually blend in with the wrestlers actually in the game! Something that has never been done quite right since.

  34. This game has the best weapon system of all of the games. They donโ€™t disappear when dropped!!!

  35. I had big show in my no mercy but Shawn Michaels was an unlockable. And main event bottom row was Jericho. Angle and benoit

  36. British Bulldog is a jobber in this game lol.

  37. Idk why people simp over these n64 wrestling games I think the ps1 smackdown games had better season modes/gameplay

  38. Mid-Card 1: Upper-Carders
    Mid-Card 2: Mid-Carders
    Mid-Card 3: Lower-Carders
