We’re back for a new year of portable fun. To kick off the new year we review three racing games for the GBA. (Konami Krazy Racers, Racing Gears Advance and Rock n’ Roll Racing)

  1. I don't have any immediate plans to but it's not out of the question. I haven't done a multi-game show in a long time. Could be fun. 🙂

  2. I totally agree but it was released in the US and as far as US fans are concerned most of the faces aren't recognizable.

  3. Moving up on the review ladder are we. Keep up the stellar reviews

  4. You really should, it's a lot of fun. 🙂

  5. lol, which one are you gonna get? Racing Gears?

  6. Wacky Wheels is the best Mario Kart clone. 🙂 Still have the shareware version on a Rise Of The Triad disc.

  7. lol I haven't played that game in ages. I wonder if it's still good.

  8. 16-bit remakes! FUCK YEAH! Cool songs too!

That desktop menu thing is adorable. I do love the MGS 16-bit too. "Who's tire tracks are these?"

  9. Great review (as usual). I also hadn't heard of Racing Gears Advance before but want to check it out now.

  10. But it was made by them when they where still called Silicon & Synapse, before Blizzard even existed. The Blizzard we know today is made of many more and likely very different people.
It's still a great game though regardless of it's lineage.

  11. gran turismo or however you spell it was good for gba

  12. ah yeah I posted that after you said it in the video. Its still pretty interesting to see how they've evolved over time thou. They went from a 2d Rc type racing game to World Of Warcraft.

  13. not sure…i downloaded the rom a long time ago..when gba roms were first coming out..dont know if it was a homemade or not but it seemed pretty professional .. cant seem to find it ..i could be over on my friends computer looking for it and i think im going crazy better be over there

  14. ok, true, but look at the Death of Superman game… that one has the Blizzard logo on the beginning (and that I know for sure), so it was already Blizzard (whatever incarnation of Blizzard it was at the time, at least :P), and I think we all agree it's a substancially different product from what they became known for =)

Hey, when you're starting your career, you can't be too picky on the offers you get, especially in the Videogame multi-million economical machine 😉

man i used to have rock and roll racing and it kicked so much ass! good times

  16. I have Rock N Roll racing on the genesis and it says BLIZZARD in big blue letters when you start it. So how do you figure, "BLIZZARD WASN'T EVEN BLIZZARD YET WHEN THEY MADE IT"??

Even more to the point… Blizzard was founded in 1991. Rock N Roll Racing was released two years later in 1993.

  17. At the time of it's initial release Blizzard hadn't been created yet. They went by the name Silicon & Synapse. They changed their name in 1994, a year after this game was released.
Still in hindsight this is sort of a lame point and one I probably should have worded differently.

But it was like 2 years ago, so give me a break. lol
    It's all been a learning process. 🙂

  18. I know what you mean about the roster in Konami Krazy Racers. I only recognized three of those characters (Grey Fox, Goemon, and Dracula), and I think it would've been cool if Konami put Pyramid Head from Silent Hill in their racing game. A Silent Hill racing track would also be interesting.

  19. Hey, Ben, I was wondering, will you do racing game reviews for the original Game Boy, Game Boy Color, Lynx, and Game Gear?
